CISPDR Leads in Research on Joint Operation Platform of Water Resources Projects in Yangtze River Basin

A delegation led by Mr. TIAN Yitang, Director of Department of Flood and Drought Disaster Prevention, Ministry of Water Resources of China (MWR), visited CISPDR and held in-depth exchange with Mr. NIU Xinqiang, the President of CISPDR, on Joint Operation of Water Resources Projects in Yangtze River Basin. The delegation was joined by Mr. JIN Xingping, Deputy Chief Engineer of Changjiang Water Resources Commission (CWRC).

 

Scientific operation of water resources project in a river basin can bring economic and social benefits of the projects to the full, and establishment of a Joint Operation Platform for such project can help better mitigate and manage large flood, said Mr. TIAN. With its innovative thoughts and top professional technical team, CISPDR as the technical support for establishment of this Platform should join its efforts in making technical breakthroughs to achieve Projects’ benefits in flood control, power generation, water supply, ecology, etc.

 

Dr. NIU Xinqiang, the President of CISPDR, expressed gratitude to Department of Flood and Drought Disaster Prevention for its long-term support and trust on CISPDR. “CISPDR has rich experience in joint operation of water resources projects, which also has long been a key research area of the institute. We’ll build up the Joint Operation Platform as soon as possible, as instructed by MWR and CWRC, to deliver a strong technical support for joint operation of the water projects in Yangtze River Basin.” Said Dr. NIU.
