Safety Monitoring

  Since the 1970s, CISPDR has been offering safety monitoring services and undertaken the safety monitoring design, project implementation, monitored data analysis and relevant research activities for dozens of projects internationally including Gezhouba Hydraulic Complex, Wan’an Hydropower Project, Geheyan Hydropower Project, Gaobazhou Hydropower Project, Shuibuya Hydropower Project, Three Gorges Project, Wudongde Hydropower Project, Jiangya Hydropower Project, Goupitan Hydropower Project, Pengshui Hydropower Project, Zaoshi Hydropower Project, Danjiangkou Hydropower Project, South-to-North Water Transfer Project, Dongshen water supply project in China, and Karot hydropower project in Pakistan.

  Safety monitoring involves systematic monitoring of physical variables such as deformation, seepage, stress, strain, temperature and seismic response on engineering structures as well as their foundations, side slopes and underground caverns, and so on.

  As the “ears” and “eyes” to monitor project safety, safety monitoring has received more and more attentions by both the project contractors and O&M managers. GPS deformation monitoring technology, deformation observation technology with measurement robot, vacuum laser quasi-straight deformation monitoring technology, wireless sensor technology and IOT-based monitoring automation technology have been widely used for safety monitoring along with progress in the frontier technologies such as spatial measurement, sensor and computer network information. Big breakthroughs have been made in the technical research areas such as high-precision GPS monitoring, application of PS Insar monitoring technology, 3D visualized monitoring as well as monitoring database management and automatic monitoring technology. Safety monitoring is developing towards real-time intelligent sensing, intelligent analysis and application.
